April 22. Tuesday.
Only two more weeks until our departure for our extended trip to Europe. We are getting some final details completed and soon will be filling our suitcases to have us on our way.
We plan to keep a post at least weekly if not every other day. A Bon Voyage party has been planned for us on May 4. The butterflies keep mounting inside our bodies. True excitement!!!
At this writing..........eight more days until our flight overseas.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels you two! I am looking forward to your posts and pictures.. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are now in Paris ready to go to sleep after a very long and confusing day.
ReplyDeleteWe left Bellingham on a sunny, warm Wednesday morning with our friend Karen Clark taking us to meet the Airporter Bus to join our flight over the pole to Rykevik, Island( Iceland). After a one hour lay-over there, we joined a flight to Paris. Upon our ascent into Paris, beautiful hues of green patchworked the fertile ground and country French villages with stucco made houses topped with red rooves gave texture to the fields each about three to five miles apart within the landscape. A truly beautiful sight. Rain fell as we know it in our hometown area, so we felt quite comfortable. We had a bit of a mix-up with our leased car, but help was wonderful at the airport and all people at information desks were a big help to solving our dilemma. We now are driving a beautiful white brand new Peugeot. After finally finding our hotel on the outskirts of downtown central Paris, we had a good dinner at a local spot and had fun with a few people that live in the neighborhood. After a good glass of Bordeaux wine and a full stomach, we are calling it day ( and a half). Our hotel room is small, but adequate. We are well and together with high hopes for good sightseeing tomorrow.
Thanks for the update!! Beautiful description of flying in to Paris!! And how fun mingling with the locals. Can't wait to hear more!!
